Description of event ( Press release)
“School is back and we are kicking off the football season downtown this First Friday at the Downtown Pep Rally!”
Football season is almost here and we’re kicking off Bulloch County High School’s upcoming season at this year’s Downtown Pep Rally, brought to us by F1RST FRIDAY, this August 2 from 5:30 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. at the Courthouse Lawn.
The annual free event will include live music, food, vendors, and activities for all ages. Dunk a friend at our dunking booth for only $5 with all proceeds going directly to Safe Haven. Kids will not only be able to enjoy the bouncy house but face paintings as well!
Come out and enjoy the marching bands, introduced by Tommy Palmer with Georgia High School Scoreboard, from Portal High School playing at 6:00 p.m., Bulloch Academy at 6:30 p.m., Southeast Bulloch at 7:00 p.m., and Statesboro High School at 7:30 p.m. Make sure to bring all your friends you haven’t seen during the summer break, and welcome in the new school year together!
During the event you may walk around to see all that local goods vendors have to offer. Treat yourself to back to school needs on clothing and accessories. We understand that the way to someone’s heart is food, which is why we’ll have Max Firehouse Popcorn, Kickback Shack, A&J Funnel Cakes, Pina Colada-N-Cotton candy, and more. “We’re very excited to see the students come back this year,” Allen Muldrew, director at Downtown Statesboro Development Authority, said. “They’ve spent many hours rehearsing for this performance and we can’t wait to see what they’ve put together.”
