STATESBORO, GA — Join us on our April tour of Downtown Statesboro! With this tour, you’ll get to sample some delicious eats, sip a drink and stroll through the history that Statesboro has to offer!
By: Wilfredo Ruiz
Due to Covid-19, our monthly First Fridays are currently on hold. But in order to keep the community involved in what Downtown is offering, we are continuing the new initiative called Downtown Tours: Discovering all the antique wonders and history from beautiful Downtown Statesboro with walking tours around the downtown area.
The tours will start at the Downtown Statesboro Development Authority (DSDA) office at 10 Siebald St. and will highlight local businesses, showing the beautiful history of Statesboro. We’ll be stopping by Honey Specialties and end the tour at Eagle Creek Brewery, located at 106 Savannah Ave for some bites and drinks!
Tour dates are: April 22 at 5:30pm & 6:00pm. These tours are free, however we request people to pre-register as we are limiting the size of groups and practicing social distancing. On this tour, we’ll be stopping by multiple restaurants in Downtown, including Bull & Barrel, Honey Too and more! To sign up, click this link.
Each month, the DSDA will choose a theme related to the stops that our guides will follow. The theme for this month is: “Sample and Stroll”.
Downtown Tours is a new initiative for us and our hope is that we can use this as an opportunity to highlight local businesses and bring more people downtown to shop, eat and play. We are thankful for our sponsors Georgia Power, Cinnaholic, Core Credit Union Tormenta FC, McKeithen’s True Value and Coca Cola.
“Downtown Statesboro has a variety of unique shops, tasty restaurants and the greatest concentration of entrepreneur owned businesses. Support these small shops and show them some love in 2021” said, Allen Muldrew executive director for Downtown Statesboro Development Authority.
