The Downtown Statesboro Development Authority is wrapping up summer with the F1rst Friday Downtown Pep Rally, sponsored by Statesboro Natural Gas, on Aug 4th from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the courthouse lawn. 

The pep rally will consist of marching band music while the teams show their school spirit to get the community excited for their upcoming seasons.

This year the schedule is as follows: Portal Middle and High School will open the pep rally at 5:30 p.m. Cheer South All Stars will perform tumbling in honor of their 25th season at 6:00 p.m. The Southeast Bulloch High School marching band, football and cheerleading teams with the special addition of the back to back state champion flag football team at 6:30 p.m. The Statesboro High School marching band, football and cheerleading teams will follow at 7:30 p.m.

“We’re excited to feature the flag football team from Southeast Bulloch High School and hope to have participation from other flag football teams in future events,” Allen Muldrew, Executive Director said.

Food and refreshments will be provided for the participating teams. Over 50 vendors, including food trucks will be in attendance. Free bouncy houses will also be on the courthouse lawn. This will help provide a night of food and fun for all community members who attend the Downtown Pep Rally.
