Parrish Hair Salon, a boutique salon specializing in custom color, extensions, and keratin treatments, has found a new home in downtown Statesboro. Relocating in January 2025 has given the salon greater visibility and a fresh opportunity to serve the community.

Amanda has been in the beauty industry since 2008, a passion she traces back to childhood. “It all started with my grandma giving me her roller set,” she recalls. What started as a childhood fascination grew into a lifelong passion, shaped in part by her mentor, Scott Durden, a talented hairstylist who has been a major influence in Amanda’s career.

“Scott played a huge role in my journey,” Amanda shares. “Not only is he an incredible stylist, but he’s also an amazing mentor. His knowledge, patience, and belief in my talent pushed me to be the stylist I am today”. Under Scott’s guidance, Amanda honed her skills in color, cutting, and styling, gaining the confidence to open her own salon.

The Salon’s name, “Parrish,” carries special meaning-it’s the maiden name of Amanda’s mother. “I love how it sounds, and it just felt right for the business,” Amanda says. Although relocating was not part of the original plan, circumstances led to an opportunity she couldn’t pass up. Since opening, Parrish has seen a noticeable increase in walk-ins and new clients as people discover the salon’s inviting atmosphere.

Parrish sets itself apart from other salons by offering a fun and fresh boutique experience designed with a minimalistic yet sophisticated aesthetic; the space is both stylish and welcoming. Amanda hints that there’s more to come, but her vision remains clear: a refined salon experience where every client feels truly pampered and appreciated.

For Amanda, the most rewarding part of her career is the transformation she helps her clients achieve. “Making people feel beautiful is everything, ” I always tell my clients, “Practice makes improvements because nothing is perfect.”

Beyond beauty services, Parrish Salon embraces a philosophy of inclusivity and empowerment. “When we named it Parrish Salon, I thought of the initials P.S- so our slogan became ‘P.S. You Are Beautiful.’ That’s what I want everyone to feel when they leave here.”

As Parrish Hair Salon continues to grow in its new downtown home, Amanda invites the community to shop by, book an appointment, and experience the unique charm of downtown’s latest beauty destination at 36 W Main St. Follow Parrish on Instagram and Facebook.
