Blend n’ Brew, a new coffee destination is opening on March 20th in Downtown Statesboro with a mission that goes far beyond the cup.
Blend n’ Brew, co-owned by sisters Dr. Tilicia Mayo-Gamble and Takara Mayo, is built on a family legacy of public service
and a shared vision for community impact.
Originally from Indiana, the Mayo sisters have planted roots in Statesboro, bringing with them a deep commitment to service.
Dr. Mayo-Gamble serves as Associate Dean for Practice and Research in the Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health at
Georgia Southern University. Takara Mayo is a federal law enforcement agent.
Extending the family’s public service tradition,Dr. Mayo-Gamble’s husband, Johnny Gamble, is a retired police officer and member of the Statesboro One Boro Commission.
“We’re not only serving coffee… we’re serving our community. We’re creating a space for coffee, community, and conversation,”
said Dr. Mayo-Gamble. Blend n’ Brew will offer Downtown Statesboro a family-friendly menu grounded in purpose.
The owners have intentionally partnered with Georgia-based, organic coffee roasters who can trace every bean to a specific farm, ensuring transparency, sustainability, and ethical sourcing. Each roaster selected aligns with a mission-driven model of giving back.
Among their partners is Three Tree Coffee Roasters, a local roaster supporting initiatives to prevent and stop human trafficking.
Blend n’ Brew also sources from Cafe Campesino, a Georgia-based cooperative that partners with Georgia Organics to support
Georgia farmers and provide educational initiatives to schools focused on healthy eating and the benefits of organic foods.
Through these partnerships, Blend n’ Brew is committed not only to high-quality beverages, but to strengthening agricultural sustainability and reinvesting in Georgia education.
The journey to opening has been supported by the Business Innovation Group and the Downtown Statesboro Development Authority. What began as a vision rooted in faith and perseverance has now become a tangible addition to the Downtown Statesboro business
community. With doors ready to open, the message is simple: Downtown Statesboro, we are ready to serve you.
