Get ready for a good time, any time.
Entertain yourself and your family downtown. From the arts to the outdoors, you’ll find something for everyone.
What do you want to do first? A walk down historic Main Street or through the neighborhood offers so many choices.
By day, you can make pottery or jewelry, stroll through a gallery. Stop by the Public Library for children’s story hour or an author reading. Think about taking a music class or browse locally made musical instruments.
Statesboro is home to one of Georgia’s must-see farmers markets — the Main Street Farmers Market is a foodie mecca Saturdays, April through November. Fresh and local produce, served up with music and fun activities.
And there’s nightlife when the stars come out. The Averitt Center for the Arts and its Emma Kelly Theater offer music, theater, dance, movies and an ever-fresh art gallery. Raise a glass at one of our bistros or taverns. Or, try your luck at a little billiards. And join us for F1RST Friday, a monthly downtown celebration for the whole family.
Do a little time traveling, too. Many Downtown buildings and homes are on the National Register of Historic Places. And, a Confederate memorial marks the route of General Will T. Sherman’s forces through Statesboro on their March to the Sea. Pick up the History Walk Guidebook at our offices.
Or just relax and feel the warmth of the Southern sun – and charm. Take up a bench on the courthouse lawn, listen to a bubbling fountain, enjoy the landscaping in our historic downtown.
